The financial consideration for Category (A) minerals is calculated in two stages:

  1. Stage One – Based on the value of the mineral at the time of extraction according to the rates specified in the mining laws and regulations listed below.
  2. Stage Two – The equivalent of income tax, minus the zakat due, applies to companies that are partially or wholly Saudi-owned.
