The Saudi Mining Services Company (Esnad), in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, is committed to empowering investors and raising awareness of the requirements and procedures for mining investment. In this context, a virtual workshop will be held on rehabilitation and closure for Class (B–C) licenses.
Workshop Objectives:
To raise awareness among mining investors about the mandatory legal and technical obligations upon the expiry of their mining licenses, in accordance with the Mining Investment Law and the Environmental Law.
To clearly explain the requirements for rehabilitation and closure.
To clarify the importance of, and procedures for obtaining, the Rehabilitation and Closure Certificate as a final mandatory requirement to fulfill the license holder’s obligations.
Procedures and standards for rehabilitation.
Environmental and social impact.
Costs and risks associated with failure to rehabilitate.
Successful examples of license site rehabilitation.
