As Siham West

The As Siham Gold Region is located in the central Afif tectonostratigraphic terrane, approximately 50 km to the south-west of the As Safra East Gold Region. The region is divided into two separate blocks that straddles the NW-trending Sukhaybarah Fault, a major NW-trending Najd structure. The western block of the As Siham North Gold Region covers an area of 185 km² that is underlain by the volcano-sedimentary Hulayfah Group to the west and younger Shammar Group to the east. The north-south trending Hulayfah-Ad Dafinah-Ruwah suture forms the eastern contact with the Shammar Group, described as an ophiolite-decorated shear zone that defines the suture at the western margin of the Afif Terrane.
