Multi-phase regional- and more detailed prospect-scale historical exploration programs have been completed in the region from the 1960’s until the early 2000’s by the BRGM, USGS, Riofinex and the SGS. Work included historical geological mapping on a regional-, district- and prospect scale. The Ma’aden exploration work commenced more recently, from the late 1990’s until the present time.
