Exploration License

Exploration License

The exploration license gives the investor the right to explore for specifiers minerals in the specified area through surface mining and geophysical/geochemical analysis.

  • The license for minerals of categories (A) and (B) can only be renewed, and the application must be submitted at least (30) days prior to the expiration of the license.
  • Provide a plan for managing the environmental and social impact (the plan is updated upon license renewal request).
  • A plan to manage the social impact of activities that include contributing to the development of local communities.
  • Commitment to the minimum spend on exploration.
  • Financial solvency and feasibility study.

The license for minerals of categories (A) and (B) is issued for a period of 5 years, renewable for periods not exceeding 5 years each, provided that the total duration of the license and its renewal does not exceed 15 years.

The license for minerals of category (C) is issued for a non-renewable period of one year.

Surplus raw materials license

The surplus raw materials license enables the transportation of mineral ores belonging to Category (C) from the site to external locations for the purpose of selling or utilizing them, on the condition that they are located within project sites or privately owned lands.

The license allows the investor holding the mining license or small mining to establish facilities or use lands outside the license site for the purpose of achieving public objectives.
